Who we are

We are a community benefit society, which means we are owned by our members and run for the good of the community, not for profit. We began in 2014 with a simple idea: that local people, working together, could take real control of their energy, cut their bills and cut carbon at the same time.

Since then we have raised over a quarter of a million pounds for local energy projects, put solar and battery storage on the Forest Row Community Centre, helped residents move off oil, and built a trusted name for free, genuinely independent advice. We sell nothing and take no commission, so the only thing we are ever trying to do is help you make a good decision.

What we believe

That the cheapest, most secure energy is the energy we make and control ourselves. That a resilient village can keep the heat and lights on when things go wrong. And that when we generate our own power, the money and the benefit should stay in the community rather than flow out of it.
