The Future of Community Energy – A discussion with Nusrat Ghani MP

Invite to Member Meeting on 19th October 2018 -

The landscape of how we meet our energy needs is changing. Forest Row Energy is passionate about working towards local, renewable energy production. We would like to see a future where we can be more self-sufficient in our energy needs, where energy costs less – for us and the environment.

In recent years, community energy has been supported by various government funds and schemes including the Rural Community Energy Fund (RCEF), the Feed-in Tariff for electricity, the Renewable Heat Incentive, Low Carbon Across the South East (LOCASE) and the Big Energy Saving Network.

Next year we will need to take a new look at how we fund our work as RCEF, LOCASE and the Feed- In-Tariff are due to end.

On the 19th October Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden will meet with members of the Forest Row Energy Co-op for a constructive discussion on how community energy co-ops such as ours can continue to grow within the changing government policy.

The visit is part of a series of events for Green Great Britain Week 15th-19th October 2018 and we are delighted to welcome Nusrat to our community.

The event will take place on 19th October 2018, 2-3pm, in the Community Centre Rose Room. It is open to all Forest Row Energy Co-op members on a pre-book basis.

If you are not a member and you would like to come to the meeting. Please join us.
